Hello! I am Pedro Lázaro Rodríguez. Welcome to my academic website, which I use as my personal academic CV. I designed it from scratch using PHP, HTML, CSS, and local JavaScript (without external CDNs). The style resembles a terminal, and I hope you enjoy it.

I work as an Assistant Professor of Library and Information Science at the Complutense University of Madrid. I have a Ph.D. in Social Sciences by the University of Granada (Spain) and my research is focused on Information and Scientific Communication.

As a researcher, I am a member of INFOBISOC, a research group on Information, Libraries and Society. On the other hand, I am the Deputy Editor of RIBES, a Spanish scientific journal (Diamond Open Access) focused on libraries, education and society.

Research

My main research line is the evaluation of libraries. I currently also focus my work on Communication and Media Studies, free/libre social media and networks, and Library and Information Science from a gender-aware and inclusive perspective.

After completing my PhD thesis and a postdoctoral stage, since 2021 I have followed the principle of publishing my research through the Diamond Open Access model. You can find listed below my:

   COBib-Públicas is an observatory of public libraries in Spain during the Covid-19 pandemic based on digital news. The project has been published as a web page including digital news on public libraries from January to May 2020.    Secaba-Rank: Secaba-Rank is an online tool that includes Secaba-Rank Universitarias and Secaba-Rank Publicas, which can be used to evaluate both Spanish university libraries and public reading networks. Using a systemic approach, the methodology makes use of second level indicators focused on efficiency. This methodology facilitates the benchmarking of libraries to find models of good practice in order to improve. We focused our research on a study entitled: "Library Use, University Resources and Student Quality in Predicting Students’ Academic Performance: The Case of Spanish On-Site Public Universities". 2. 2018
   University of Amsterdam; 3 months in 2018; with Frank Huysmans as my research host. Thanks to Frank Huysmans I learned statistical analysis with R (using RStudio). Since them, it is the software I use for my research. Also, we started a project about latent variable analysis comparing the Spanish, the Dutch and the Finnish public library sistems
3. 2017
   Tampere University (Finland); 3 months in 2017; with Pertti Vakkari as my research host.
